Review: Enchantment by Charlotte Abel

While other girls are wearing push-up bras, Channie Belks is trying to hide the fact she’s a witch.

Sorta hard to do after her parents slap a chastity curse on her for flirting with “dirty-minded, non-magical, city-boys.” She can’t even walk by a hot guy without zapping him.

There’s a way to break the curse; but one mistake could kill her. It’s not worth the risk … until she meets Josh.

Suddenly, the threat of death isn’t such a deal-breaker.

I have to admit, I almost did not want to review this book.  I use to read all of the time, and then I had kids and never could find the time to read anymore.  I thought, why not give it a try?  I am so happy I did – I actually FOUND the time to read Enchantment.  It kept me so hooked, I did not want to put it down.  Enchantment was filled with magic, suspense, laughter and true love.  It had me hooked from the start and Charlotte was so descriptive in her writing, I could picture th events as I read the book.
I was so bummed when I got to the end and in serious need of reading on about Channie and Josh (a man every woman dreams of meeting) and the love they share between one another.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone that is into magic, suspense and love.

You can purchase Enchantment for Kindle or paperback on Amazon

Banana Bread: Time with my Daughter

My daughter and I decided to make Banana Bread the other night!  We love to bake together and really wish we could do it more often.
I always cherish these moments together.  She will soon be 4!  My baby is getting soo big.
We had a lot of fun!

In it goes to bake while we anxiously wait for it to be done!
(Please pay no attention to my dirty oven!)

I know most people like just butter on their banana bread, but we love cream cheese frostin on ours!

How do you like your Banana Bread??

Recipe: Pulled Pork

I love pulled pork sandwiches and they are soo easy to make!
All you have to do is get a pork roast and throw it in your slow cooker and cook until tender.

Then drain the water, shred the meat and put the meat back into the slow cooker.  Add in your favorite BBQ Sauce (mine is Rich & Sassy by Famous Daves) – let it cook a bit and Voila! A delicious sandwich!

I had this sandwich with some Browning HealthFull 10 Grain bread! This bread is delicious! Moist and the slices are bigger than a normal slice of bread.  It has a great texture to it!
I think this will be a regular in my house!

Disclosure:  I got the bread free to try & review courtesy of Oroweat & Browning by being a BzzAgent. I was not compensated financially for my review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Recipe: Corn Dogs

Well, we decided to try something differentand make homemade corndogs on Friday. It was interesting, fun and definitely a learning experience!!

Apparently colored popscicle sticks turn your hotdogs the color of this stick (in our case red and green)
Make sure the oil in deep fryer is not too “used”
And, be sure to put the corn starch on the hot dogs before you put on the batter, otherwise the batter will all come off in the deep fryer leaving it a MESS!!

Well, here is the end result

Definitely not the prettiest and they look burnt but that is a result of the very used oil in our deep fryer
BUT
they were actually very delicious.  After the Family hesitated, and finally tried them, they were asking for more.
We will be making these again – and fixing our mistakes the next time!

Here is the recipe I used, courtesy of A Cozy Kitchen
Hers look A LOT more edible than mine do 🙂
